My name is Mark McGuire, I live in Dunedin, New Zealand. I teach at the University of Otago (I am a Senior Lecturer teaching and researching Design). My research interests include open education, online communities, digital media theory and practice, communication design, and social media and networks. My recent publications focus on these issues. I teach primarily in communication design and new media theory and practice. I am interested in interdisciplinary and collaboration. I am a lifelong learner, and I am learning what it means to be an Open Scholar. This website is part of that effort. I work in the Learning and Development field mainly as an instructional designer, trainer, life and executive Coach. I am always trying programs and new tools and have always enjoyed designing and experimenting with different learning solutions and activities. this lead me several years ago to enroll in a Masters Degree in Flexible and Online Learning with the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. while I could not complete the degree due to time constraints I learned a lot from the courses that I did and got even more interested in online learning.
About Andrzej Marczewski @daverage
Andrzej has been a gamification thought leader, blogger, speaker and author since 2012. Building on a 30 plus year love affair with games and technology, gamification was the perfect fit. Best known for his Gamification User Types Hexad and his newly published book “Even Ninja Monkeys Like to Play”, Andrzej continues to make his voice heard in the industry. Recently moving to G2G3, he is currently working as a gamification designer and consultant and couldn’t be happier!
About Maha Bali @bali_maha
I am Associate Professor of Practice at the Centre for Learning and Teaching at American University in Cairo. I teach educational game design to undergraduates. I am editor at the journal Hybrid Pedagogy, editorial board member of two journals: Journal of Pedagogic Development and Learning, Media and Technology. I am also a Prof Hacker blogger, and co-founder ofvirtuallyconnecting.org and edcontexts.org.
