Learning on/with the Open Web Conference

One-day event celebrating the Open Web as a socio-technical ecosystem for teaching, learning, scholarly communication and public engagement!

Join us to share, learn and participate in how the Open Web can be utilised in different educational contexts and why it is core to the development of digital literacies and critical pedagogy approaches.

The event is a follow-up to both the Open Web for Learning & Teaching Expertise Hub (OWLTEH), an initiative kick-started throughout the Mozilla Open Leaders Programme (cohort 5), and the Domains Conference 2017

  • Connected Learning and the Open Web
  • The Web as Portfolio

  • Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) and the Open Web

  • Bottom-up vs. top-down institutional dynamics
  • Learning design and the Open Web
  • Ethical rationale for using the open web
  • Authentic assessment through the Open Web
  • Opening up feedback
  • Embedding Wikipedia and/or other Wikimedia sister projects into the curriculum
  • Open Educational Practices
  • Open licences
  • Data tracking and teaching in the open
  • Intercultural learning in the open

Who should attend?

The event is aimed at anyone interested in teaching-learning practices that involve using the Open Web, whether already doing it or simply wishing to do so. In particular, it will be relevant to Academics, Learning Technologists, Academic Developers, Instructional Designers and professionals working in HE, FE or community / adult education.
