The GameChangers initiative, led by Professor of Game Science Sylvester Arnab won the ‘Science of Learning’ Gold award at the 2022 QS Reimagine Education Awards. Also known as the ‘Oscars of Education’, the QS Reimagine Education Awards are the largest global awards programme for teaching and learning, recognising cutting edge innovators in the world of educational technology.

The initiative ‘GameChangers: Educators as agents of change through playful pedagogy’ was shortlisted out of over 1100 applicants. Co-led by Coventry University’s Disruptive Media Learning Lab and Centre for Postdigital Cultures, the team work on education initiatives involving educators and learners in marginalised communities around the world, running programmes in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam that are funded under the Newton Fund and the Global Challenges Research Fund.

Winning GOLD for that category means a lot to us. Such a fantastic way to end 2021 and to welcome 2022!
